APRW’s Different Take on Corporate Social Responsibility

APRW offers personalised public relations services to non-profits and social service agencies pro-bono

Singapore, 27 December 2022 – APRW Pte Ltd, one of Singapore’s earliest and largest integrated communications agencies, offers a different take on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) by offering pro-bono or low-bono public relations services all-year round to non-profits and community organisations. The services APRW provides, include strategic counsel, building media relations and supporting key events to deliver brand messages and shape public narrative.

Leveraging Publicity Expertise for Good

APRW is supporting eight organisations on a pro-bono or low-bono basis including The Boys Brigade Share-a-Gift project, Pro Bono SG, Runninghour, TiE Singapore, Endeavor Indonesia, Care Corner, HCSA Community Services and Soundball. APRW keeps a diverse pro-bono client portfolio that serves different causes.

Managing Director of APRW, Ms Cho Pei Lin said “At APRW, we recognise that not all charities and non-profit groups have the capacity to enlist or employ professional PR expertise. As part of our corporate purpose, we are happy to support our pro-bono and low-bono clients that align with our values to do good for the community. SMEs like us, in our small ways, can make a positive contribution towards building a city of good and a Singapore that cares.”

Digital Studios by APRW, the agency’s digital arm, has been expanding its client repertoire since its establishment this year, including pro-bono clients. They are HCSA Community Service, CareCorner and Soundball. Digital Studios by APRW supports these pro-bono clients with strategic planning and content execution for their social media platforms.

The agency’s pro-bono service extends beyond the shores of the Singapore office. APRW’s Indonesia office, which was setup in early 2020, has also been offering pro-bono services. The team has been supporting Endeavor Indonesia, a global non-profit organisation that supports and accelerates high-impact entrepreneurs by connecting them with talent, capital, and a worldwide peer community, since October 2022.

Longstanding partnerships

APRW’s longstanding pro-bono clients, such as Boys Brigade Share-a-Gift (BBSG), an annual national community service project organised by The Boys’ Brigade that spreads Christmas cheer to the underprivileged in Singapore and Pro Bono SG (PBSG), formerly known as Law Society Pro Bono Services (LSPBS). APRW has supported BBSG and PBSG for over a decade. Being a key partner of BBSG, APRW has been providing public relations and publicity support such as sharing strategic advice, building media relations, supporting key events, and delivering campaign messaging.

Mr Henry Tan, Chairman, organising committee of Boys Brigade Share-a-Gift shared, “APRW has been a long-time key partner of the Boys Brigade Share-a-Gift project and has provided tremendous publicity support on a pro-bono basis for 16 years, helping to build our social media presence from scratch, executing media events expertly and providing strategic advice to help BBSG become an iconic part of the Christmas season. With APRW’s support, we have successfully achieved our targets every year. We greatly appreciate their faithful service and partnership all these years.”

Besides supporting pro-bono or low-bono clients, APRW is also committed to grooming communication professionals. In 2021, APRW launched the APRW-NTU WKWSCI Student Development Fund which aims to nurture the next generation of communication professionals by helping students fund their final-year projects. The fund also recognises and celebrates the best projects in four categories: journalism, campaign, research, and broadcast with the APRW Excellence Award for Top FYPs. In November 2022, four teams consisting of 11 recipients were awarded the APRW Excellence Award across the four categories.
