To commemorate the RSAF’s 50th anniversary, a series of events were organised to celebrate the milestone year with fellow Singaporeans and partners of RSAF, including RSAF50@Singapore Airshow 2018 where President Halimah Yacob officially launched the RSAF50 celebrations and unveiled the commemorative RSAF50-themed F-15SG. RSAF50@Heartlands, where members of the public joined in the celebrations at five Heartlands locations, each offering unique highlights and demonstrations. For the first time, visitors also witnessed live helicopter operations at the RSAF50@Sembawang. RSAF50@Marina Barrage, the highlight was the commemorative RSAF50 aerial flypast comprising more than 20 RSAF flying assets and aerial displays. And lastly, RSAF50 Parade where Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong officiated the event, it was held in conjunction with RSAF’s anniversary. It was here that the next-generation Airbus A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) made its first public appearance.
